The Gravel Grinder will be a gravel road race like nothing you could have imagined.
This year event will be October 3, 2015 and will always be the first Saturday in October. The race is limited to 2,000 riders.
There will be a 20-mile, a 45-mile, and a 60-mile race. The 20-mile race is very flat, but the 45- and 60-mile races will have long steep climbs, which will test your mental sanity.

The Harvest Festival is held in Boyne City’s downtown with music, crafts and fall produce, and is jointly organized by Boyne City Main Street and the Boyne Area Chamber. The entire Boyne City Farmers Market will move to Water and Lake Streets from 8 a.m. to noon. The farm market booths will sell a variety of apples and other harvest items including pumpkins, squash, apple butter, jam, honey and cider. Portions of Water Street will be closed to traffic during the festival to make room for the Farmers Market, music and more than 30 arts and craft vendors.
The festival will also include folk art demonstrations, children’s games, hay rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a scarecrow-making contest (application) for residents and businesses. Festival hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Local churches and non-profit organizations that would like to participate by organizing children’s games or harvest crafts are encouraged to contact the Boyne Area Chamber for a free booth at 582-6222. APPLE ORCHARDS
Fall is in the air and area orchards are busy harvesting bushels of fresh apples in preparation for Apple Fest. Apples are Michigan’s largest and most valuable fruit crop. More than 30 varieties of apples will be available!
FALL FARMERS MARKET
Apple Fest is a great time to shop fresh and shop local. Visit the market for pumpkins, mums, squash, jam, maple syrup, pies, bagels, mustard, crepes, cider, honey, meats, eggs, soups, granola, and many baked goods. All locally produced!
FOOD BOOTHS
Local non-profit organizations will be on site to satisfy your hunger with food items such as chili, hot dogs, kielbasa, apple flappen, soup, apple cake, and cocoa.
ART & CRAFT SHOW
125 booths in East Park and Bridge Park bursting with unique one of a kind creations. The show offers work of artists and crafters from around the country and is the perfect venue to kick off the holiday shopping season.
